EXCLUSIVE: Sonam Bajwa Joins Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in Border 2
Sonam Bajwa is all set to be a part of Border 2. The film already boasts a strong team, led by Sunny Deol, with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty in key roles.
Pinkvilla was the first to report that JP Dutta, Bhushan Kumar, and Nidhi Dutta are teaming up for Border 2. We also shared that the movie will continue the story from where Border ended — making it a true sequel. Shortly after, we revealed that the makers are bringing back the iconic song “Sandese Aate Hai”, with Sonu Nigam and Arijit Singh as the singers.
Sonam Bajwa’s role in Border 2
We have now exclusively learned that Sonam Bajwa has been roped in to play a key role in Border 2. She’s set to start shooting by the end of June. According to sources, Sonam plays a strong Punjabi girl in the film. “Sonam Bajwa is paired alongside Diljit Dosanjh in Border 2. Her character is a strong one, with a dramatic arc, and her scenes with Diljit will be a major highlight — alongside the war sequences and conflict between India and Pakistan,” the source revealed.
The team started filming with Diljit Dosanjh in Pune, and the rest of the cast will be joining in a couple of weeks. “The makers will shoot from June until mid-August, with a combination of all the lead actors — Sunny, Varun, Diljit, Ahan, and Sonam — and hopefully adding another top actress alongside Varun, as casting is underway,” the source added.
Release and more details
Border 2 is scheduled to release on Republic Day 2026, and the makers have promised it will be the biggest war film in the history of Indian cinema. Around 60% of the movie’s shoot is already finished, and the rest will wrap up by August. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates!
