EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Abhishek Kumar opens up about being touched inappropriately — says, “I called my mom…”
Popular TV actor Abhishek Kumar, known from Bigg Boss 17, recently spoke to Pinkvilla and opened up about a painful experience from his struggling days. He shared that he was touched inappropriately early in his career, which left him deeply shaken. After the incident, he returned to his hometown to recover.
In the interview, Abhishek talked about his first days in Mumbai. He recalled how, after arriving, a few girls recognized him and asked for pictures. That moment made him feel that he belonged in Mumbai and decided not to return home right away.
He then opened up about what happened next. “I had been in Mumbai for about six months when the incident happened. A man, who was gay, behaved inappropriately with me,” he said.
When asked if this happened on the first day, Abhishek clarified, “No, it happened after 1.5 to 2 months. He didn’t do anything forcefully, but he tried to pressure me and said, ‘If you want to move ahead, you have to do this.’ I had heard about such things in the film industry, in interviews. But I didn’t think it really happened.”
Abhishek shared that this took place back in 2017. He said, “I was scared and confused. I hadn’t even told my family that I was in Mumbai. I had told them I was in Delhi for training.”
After the incident, Abhishek finally called his mother. She immediately told him to return home. “I booked a general ticket for the next day. I sat in the train crying all the way back home,” he remembered emotionally.
Abhishek said that after this experience, he didn’t want to be part of the industry anymore. He started doing a job where he earned ₹7,000 per month.
Today, Abhishek is doing much better and is currently seen on the show Laughter Chefs.
